2nd Annual MOJMFA Friday Night Lights!

MOJMFA Families and Friends,

MOJMFA is proud of our football program and our position in the community. Here are some key points that we hope you’ll consider about Jr. Marauder Football:

  1. We strive to teach the fundamentals of football and life – from sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork, to Heads-Up Tackling, and the importance of having fun and building friendships!
  2. We put the utmost priority in our equipment:
    1. We recondition EVERY helmet every year – this includes a quality check by the manufacturer!
    2. We outfit the players with quality clothing and equipment
    3. We purchase additional practice equipment almost every season – to build our players’ skills
  3. We continue to invest in our facilities, working hand in hand with the Township to improve our game fields and practice fields, such as supporting the cost of field lights at $15,000 per year.
  4. We operate exclusively on funds raised through our registration fees and the hope of successful fundraising opportunities. We are in the middle of the pack for registration costs in comparison to other programs in our area, plus:
    1. We offer multiple discounts that you can take advantage of:
      • Early Registration – Register between 3/1 and 3/31 at last year’s rate: $215 (plus a mandatory non-refundable $10 Mount Olive Twp Field Usage Fee per child)
      • Multiple child discount – $25 off of your total if you have more than one child in your family registered (must be registered at the same time/under the same order)
      • Football Mania Discount – Sell 25 football mania tickets and we’ll refund your entire registration cost (excluding the mandatory $10 Mount Olive Twp Field Usage Fee)
    2. We have added a Payment Plan option for Contact Players:
      • If you cannot pay in full at the time of registration, a $110.00 deposit with the registration form is acceptable for securing participation. Subsequent payments of $57.50 would be made by June 1st and July 1st respectively – these amounts would increase with any additional charges you opt into during registration (e.g. lawn sign or Football mania Opt-out). If you need further assistance you may contact the MOJMFA Board of Directors.
    3. We have placed an increased focus on our fundraising program, and hope to offer some new, fun opportunities this year.

Remember – You are a part of the MOJMFA Family!  Everything you can do to help the program directly impacts the experience that the children in the program receive.  Here’s how you can volunteer to help:

    • Working the snack bar (our largest fundraiser)
    • Announcing games
    • Work the chains at games (best seats on the field!)
    • Film games for your team
    • Be a Team Parent

Background Check procedure!

The current Background Check procedure was implemented in 2016, which is enforced by the MOPD for ALL Mount Olive Sports Associations.

You will need to complete this to coach any Mount Olive Sports Programs from this point forward.

Here is what you need to do:

  1. Read the explanation of the background check process from the MOPD here
  2. Review the Town Ordinance here
  3. Print out and follow the instructions to Complete and Submit the Background Check form here
  4. There is a $24.50 fee, which you will have to pay at the time of your appointment.  You will receive reimbursement of this fee from the MO Dept. of Rec (via MOJMFA).

Please understand that this is a town-directed mandate, and is not the is not under the control of the MOJMFA.


Children play football because it is fun, challenging, and exciting.  Most kids love being part of a team. Football teaches cooperation and team work, helps develop positive social skills and teaches respect for others. It helps build self-confidence, a positive self-image and self-worth. It enables a child to improve upon and develop a broad range of motor skills like throwing, catching, running, kicking, balance, agility and coordination. Because a large variety of skills and physical abilities are required on a football team, there is a position for every child to play.
